Hector Kircher - Wings of Fire (Winter Turning)

I’ve read the Wings of Fire series as a kid. Since I liked the series, and read books 1 through 6, I decided to do a blog post for book 7 because I didn’t read it yet. In case you’re not familiar with the Wings of Fire series, it is a series where the books are written in the point of view of a dragon. This makes it have a really unique experience than regular books. So about book 7, the plot is where Winter (the main character for this book) has been a disappointment to his family and needs to get his dignity back. He later finds out that his sister, Icicle, has been committing terrible crimes so he needs to confront her. I think the Wings of Fire series as a whole is really good and creative because dragons are the main characters. Every book has a different main character which keeps each book from being too similar from each other, and the amount of character development that happens in the series is very good. It does get a little violent at times, but other than that I really like this series and book.

    Interesting review Hector! My little sister also likes reading this series and is always listening to its audiobook, so I know plenty about it. Personally, I am not too big of a fan; I wish there would be more ambiguity regarding the major theme of this book series–good and evil–and the concept of animus magic gives the few dragons who have it way too much power, which I do not like. However, there are eight more books in the series that you can read if you are interested.

    Amazing review Hector! I've never read this series before but have had a lot of people recommend it to me. I like how you gave an intro to the whole series before reviewing book 7. The book sounds fun and changing the protagonist from book to book is a cool concept!

The 7 ½ deaths of Evelyn Hardcasle is an interesting book. It starts you of in a forest with no memories yelling the name Ann. You are beaten up and one of your presumed attackers gives you a compass pointing a direction and you follow to a big mansion with many people inside. A doctor checks you out and says you will be fine and will gain your memories back in a few months. In the mean time you make friends around the house. You also try to learn what happened you you and Ann.  When you are get back from a walk and are resting in your bed a man in a strange costume approaches you. He tells you you have 7 days and 7 bodies to find out who will Evelyn Hardcastle at 11:00am and then you can escape this trap.
